ABOUT GEORGE

George has worked both behind and in front of the camera.

Whilst with AAJ TV he has presented Hamaray Log Hamara George, produced and wrote AAJ TV’s “News, Views and Confused” and helped to restructure the channel’s news department

He is best known for his work presenting the series ‘George Ka Pakistan’. The programme was part reality show, part documentary and part travelogue. It looked to discover, through an outsider’s perspective what it actually means to be a Pakistani. At the end of the series, George was voted by the audience to have become a Pakistani. He now has Pakistani citizenship.

Besides presenting, George is a producer of current affairs programming. He was the founding producer of both HARDtalk Pakistan and Question Time Pakistan. Both programmes aired on BBC World.

George began his career in the UK working as an associate producer for BBC 1’s Politics Show.

ABOUT KIRAN

Prior to working on Kiran aur George, Kiran was AAJ TV’s programming manager, responsible for the channel’s schedule and programming needs. She has also worked as a senior producer of documentaries for AAJ.

Before joining AAJ, Kiran was a freelance producer and director specializing in documentaries and corporate videos. In this capacity she has worked for several companies and NGOs; organizations as diverse a Unilever and the Teachers’ Resource Centre.

Kiran has also worked on projects with several international companies, including the prominent US production house TPI Ltd. She directed, produced, scripted and edited the Pakistani segment of a US documentary entitled “Children of Terror” for TPI. This segment dealt with the plight of Afghan refugee children who had fled from Afghanistan during the Taliban regime. Filmed on location at the Pakistan/Afghanistan border, the documentary was voiced by Melanie Griffith

ABOUT KIRAN AND GEORGE

It was whilst George was working on Question Time Pakistan that Kiran and George met. They married in November 2005. Karachi hadn’t seen so many goras since 1947! Ever since then Kiran and George have been working and living in Karachi. They are both excited and looking forward to working on Kiran aur George for AAJ TV.
