Master plan for development of Murree announced

MURREE : A master plan for Murree has been announced on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, says MNA Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, chairman of chief minister's steering committee for the development of Murree.

Flanked by MPA Raja Fayyaz Sarwar, he told reporters here that under the plan government degree college Murree for boys and Degree College for girls will be renovated and their buildings will be upgraded.

Moreover, a new state-of-the-art hospital of 150 beds will be constructed at Kuldanna, dairy farm, roads of Murree will be widened and schools of the town will be provided with all essential facilities.

Answering a question regarding the encroachment of 10,000 kanal state lands in various parts of Murree by influential people, he said that chief minister is very much concerned about this issue and every inch of the state land will be recovered.

He said that the land mafia with the connivance of the staff members of forest department and revenue department removed the thousands of demarcation pillars from the forest land and about 250 pillars have been recovered with the help of modern technology of survey.

He said that revenue and forest officials had destroyed the record of the land to help the land mafias for the encroachment on forest land.

Regarding the issue of heavy illegal construction Khaqan Abbasi said that CM had ordered ban on illegal construction and action to demolish illegally constructed buildings.

He said that CM is very much keen to solve the problems faced by tourists and local people in Murree.

A multi-storey parking plaza have already been announced and just after the season the construction will be started to solve the parking problem.

He said that water project from Kohala will soon be completed and the shortage of water problem will be solved once for ever.
